Beans Vepudu Recipe:

Beans Vepudu – ReciCode

Grind grated coconut, red chillies, cumin seeds coarsely without adding water → Heat oil in a pan → Season with mustard, urad dal → Add chopped beans, coconut masala, salt → Sprinkle water now and then → Cook till done.


Ingredients : (1 cup = 240 ml)

  • 3 cups Chopped String Beans
  • Salt as required

  For grinding:

  • 3 tbsp Grated Coconut
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 3/4 tsp Cumin Seeds

  For seasoning:

  • 1/2 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp Urad Dal
  • 1 tbsp Oil

 How to make Beans Vepudu?

1. Grind grated coconut, cumin seeds and red chillies coarsely without adding water.
2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard and let it splutter.
3. Add urad dal and fry till their colour changes slightly.
4. Add chopped beans, ground coconut masala and salt to taste.
5. Mix well and saute over medium flame.
6. Sprinkle water now and then. Cook till done.
7. Spicy andhra style beans vepudu is ready to be served with steamed rice !

Notes

  • Same method may be used to prepare cluster beans (kothavarangai).
  • You may add one chopped onion after seasoning. Fry till they turn translucent and then add chopped beans, coconut masala.
